Investors in renewable projects generally begin with projects where a feasibility study is completed. To avoid development risks, the majority of mainstream investors will only accept projects with signed PPAs.
Projects without land acquisitions or lease agreements, feedstock purchase agreements or letters of intent, permits, PPAs, etc., are most likely still in the idea/research stage, even with well researched documents and complicated financial models. These are generally not qualifying as an investment target. And, keep in mind, ideas, especially technology related, are generally not protected by Intellectual Property (IP) law or similar legal aspects.
